Sharon Lima, upon being elected Miss Brazil USA 1996 marked a new era for the event in its fourth and final year of implementation in the Scala Miami. It was a year that the misses from Florida dominated largely the final results and Sharon broke the taboo of height, being the candidate with the lowest height among all 39 contestants. Her beauty and elegance triumphed under the applause of more than 1,000 spectators. With Sharon, the title of Miss Brasil USA, in fact, started to be a platform for success and fame. Since being elected, she has done countless jobs as a catwalk model, photographic and advertising, and has won 11 international beauty pageants.
