Celebridades"Before I have won the contest, my life was normal - school, ballet, volleyball - and worked as a hostess at a restaurant in Palm Beach. In my days off, I would not miss the opportunity to be with my family and my friends. I was born in Sao Jose do Rio Preto, but always lived in São Paulo. We came to the United States in 1990, directly to West Palm Beach, where still my parents and my brother live. I live in Miami for working reasons. I came to the United States very young, I spent all day speaking English at school then the Portuguese language was already becoming difficult in my life. My family saw the announcement of Miss Brazil in 1997 in a newspaper and suggested that I attend to meet people of my culture and practice my language. In the beginning, I did not like the idea because the subject "miss" had never called my attention. In the end, I ended up going. I attended through my state (Florida), representing the City of West Palm Beach, and I won! This victory took me automatically to participate in the grand final, with all the winners of each state. The first contests of which I participated in (and won) were the Florida and Miss Brazil Miss Brazil USA 1997, and I also got the second place in the "Reina de Reinas," which is a contest that gathers all the winners of each country. I represented Miss Brazil and the Miss Puerto Rico represented the USA. It was the day of my birthday (October 25) and in the end the audience started to sing "Happy Birthday" - one of the most exciting moments of the contest! I felt it was a very beautiful and unique sensation. I have a job that I love, I have a beautiful family and people around the world that give me great affection and support. I am a happy woman! I always explain to people that the Miss Brazil USA gives you only a title but it does not give you a job. You have to use the opportunity to have a strong title like this and knock on doors, as I did. I did not stop trying until I got my current job, but I still have much to conquer. I started as an model of the Univision program, El Bla Blaze, after that I played a role in a novel the with leading actors, recorded a movie with Julio Iglesias Jr., I have been participating in red-carpet events, I am the host of various events and currently I am a star in a comedy by America TV, Channel 41, presented only in Florida, but available at the website www.americateve.com every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 at night. It's called La Flor de Hialeah and I'm loving it! My dream of forming a family is very big, but everything in its right time. My advice to young girls who are now participating or who dream to participate one day: fight hard, go after your dream. Do not let a simple "no" put everything to lose. Believe in yourselves and always have positive people around you. And to the production team of the Miss Brazil USA: congratulations for being uplifting the name of our beautiful country in a so beautiful and positive way."
